Counselling with Zita

Online therapy for Muslim women and mothers

A calm, understanding space to reconnect with yourself — without needing to explain your faith.

Based in Ireland — working worldwide (except US and Canada)

Your needs matter too

You may have heard the advice to “just make dua and have sabr” – and you do. But inside, you feel stuck, invisible, or unsure who you are beyond caring for everyone else.

Your days revolve around your children and responsibilities. There is little time – and perhaps even more little permission – to ask: What about me?

You are tired of putting yourself last. You might feel resentful, overwhelmed, or quietly disconnected from yourself – and you’re ready for something to change.

Welcome – I’m Zita

I’m a counsellor working with Muslim women who are used to caring for everyone else and putting their own needs at the bottom of the list, yet still feel like they’re not good enough.

Maybe you’ve been trying to just keep going and push through. Maybe you’ve been told to be patient and pray, but things aren’t changing.

If you’re feeling burnt out, doubting yourself, or noticing it affecting your work, relationships or day-to-day life, I can help. And if it matters to you to talk to someone who understands your faith, I get that too.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, isolated, or disconnected from yourself, you’re not alone. Many of the women I work with carry a quiet sense of loss — of independence, confidence, or purpose.

Living far from family, adjusting to life in a Western country, holding your faith and your identity together – this is not easy. And it can be hard to find a therapist who genuinely gets it.

I offer online therapy informed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), person-centred approaches, and my own lived experience as a Muslim woman and mother living in Ireland. You’re welcome to explore whether this feels like the right place for you.

Testimonials

“I was apprehensive about engaging with counselling but from my first session with Zita I was so glad that I did. I felt the experience allowed me to reset after a few traumatic years and feel more emotionally stable. I feel more relaxed and able to look inwards when things happen that previously would have overwhelmed me. Zita is so kind and professional and I enjoyed the sessions so much always leaving in a better mood which has stayed with me.”

Testimonials

“I attended numerous counselling sessions with Zita. She is a natural listener and a kind empathetic person. It’s been a great help to me to have been able to speak to someone like her, especially since having had an unexpected cancer diagnosis last year.”
